GE Dryer - Overheating

Repair Summary

Checked dryer for an overheating complaint. Customer stated clothes were coming out extremely hot and steaming. Inspected the lint filter and found a sock obstructing the vent area. Removed the sock and cleaned the main lint filter. This is a ductless dryer. Tested the heating cycle with the filter removed and found the temperature reached approximately 177°F before cycling down to 150–140°F. Retested with the filter installed and found the temperature reached approximately 197°F before cycling down accordingly. Verified the heating system is cycling properly. Educated the customer on the importance of cleaning the lint filter regularly to maintain proper airflow and prevent overheating. No other issues found and no parts were provided or required.
