Repair Summary
Installed the refrigerator service bulletin repair. Upon arrival, disconnected the original components, inspected the drain pan, and installed the updated start device. Found the refrigerator was set to Off at the control. Turned the refrigerator back on and the compressor attempted to start briefly, became extremely loud, and shut back off. Attempted a second start while monitoring amperage and found the compressor drawing over 12 amps before shutting down again, confirming a failed/locked compressor. Compressor will require replacement. Made the customer aware of the findings and advised them to contact their insurance/warranty provider to determine what options are available for the refrigerator.
