Repair Summary
Checked refrigerator for an intermittent grinding and rattling noise coming from the freezer. Upon arrival, the abnormal noise was not present. Removed the freezer evaporator cover and isolated the fan operation during testing. Found the freezer evaporator fan motor bearings beginning to fail, causing the intermittent grinding/rattling noise. Replaced the freezer evaporator cover assembly containing the fan motor and tested operation. Fan is now operating smoothly and quietly. Unit checks normal at this time.
