Midea Fridge - Temperature Fluctuations

Repair Summary
Checked refrigerator for intermittent temperature fluctuations. Customer stated the refrigerator will sometimes cool properly and then begin freezing items. When the temperature setting is increased, the unit then becomes too warm. The refrigerator is installed in an outdoor kitchen area where ambient temperatures can reach approximately 120°F. This refrigerator is not rated for outdoor use. Verified the compressor and freezer evaporator fan are operating properly with good airflow and found no error codes on the inverter board. This model does not use a condenser fan and relies on surrounding ambient air to dissipate heat from the condenser and compressor area. The excessive outdoor temperatures can prevent the sealed system from properly rejecting heat and result in unstable compartment temperatures. Advised the customer they may try placing a fan near the compressor/condenser area to increase airflow and help dissipate heat; however, the proper solution is to relocate the refrigerator indoors to an air-conditioned environment within its designed operating range. No component failure was found at this time. Unit checks normal.
