Repair Summary

Checked refrigerator for no cooling. Upon arrival, found temperatures at approximately 70°F. Verified the compressor and fans were all running. Connected HASS and ran a service diagnostic report, which showed no error codes. Inspected the compressor area and found extensive sulfur-related corrosion and oil residue throughout the filter drier, refrigerant tubing, and compressor area, indicating the sealed system may be heavily compromised. Repair would require an extensive sealed-system repair, including the compressor, pipe connections, three-way valve, check plug, filter drier, and associated couplers; however, due to the extent of the sulfur damage, the integrity of the sealed system could not be guaranteed. Samsung reviewed the pictures and required parts and determined the repair would not be authorized because the sulfur damage is considered environmental damage rather than a failure of the refrigerator.
