Repair Summary
Checked refrigerator for weak cooling. Customer stated the refrigerator was not cooling properly. Checked the freezer temperature and found it at approximately 36°F. Verified the compressor and all fans were operating. Connected HASS and ran the Weak Cooling Test, which failed. Inspected the sealed system and found a refrigerant leak at the Lokring fitting next to the condenser. Ordered the necessary parts. Returned and installed the ordered parts and completed the sealed-system repair. During the initial pressure test, the system was losing pressure rapidly, dropping approximately 100 PSI before the leak was located and repaired. Due to the remaining nitrogen supply, pressure tested the repaired system to 320 PSI and isolated it for 25 minutes. Pressure dropped only 0.6 PSI, confirming an excellent pressure test with no additional leaks found. Released the nitrogen and evacuated the system to 600 microns. Recharged the refrigerator according to factory specifications, restored power, and verified the compressor and all fans started properly with cool air circulating. Set temperatures accordingly and advised the customer to allow approximately 24 hours for proper cooling temperatures to be restored. Unit checks normal at this time.
