Repair Summary
Checked refrigerator for weak cooling and no ice production. Upon arrival, found the freezer completely thawed and the fresh food section at an elevated temperature. Verified the compressor and all fans were operating. Inspected the sealed system and found oil residue at the Lokring fitting next to the condenser, indicating a refrigerant leak. Ran the HASS Weak Cooling Test, which failed, confirming a sealed-system repair was required. Returned and installed the ordered parts and completed the sealed-system repair. During installation of the filter drier, a coupler broke due to the extremely tight working area and had to be cut out and redone. There was not enough tubing remaining on the filter drier to properly reconnect it, so the filter drier was replaced again. Allowed the couplers to properly set, then pressure tested the system to 350 PSI. Isolated the system for 15 minutes and bubble tested all joints with no bubbles found. Pressure dropped only 2.5 PSI during the test. Released the nitrogen and evacuated the system to 600 microns. Recharged the refrigerator according to factory specifications, restored power, and verified the compressor and all fans started properly. Set temperatures accordingly and advised the customer to allow approximately 24 hours for proper cooling temperatures and ice production to be restored. Unit checks normal at this time.
