Repair Summary
Checked refrigerator for a damaged freezer door gasket. This refrigerator is located in the garage. Upon inspection, found the freezer door gasket ripped along the top, allowing frost buildup inside the freezer. This style of gasket is installed behind the inner door liner and cannot be removed without potentially damaging the liner, which would also prevent a replacement gasket from being installed properly. The proper repair would require replacing the complete freezer door assembly. Due to the age of the refrigerator and cost of the repair, the customer elected not to replace the door and will attempt an alternative solution.
