Repair Summary
Checked refrigerator for slow ice production. Customer stated the upper ice maker was the primary concern, although the husband reported both upper and lower ice makers had been producing ice slowly. Checked the freezer temperature and found it at approximately 19°F, which is too warm for proper ice production. Verified the freezer fan was circulating air. Entered service mode and found an E5 error indicating an ice maker temperature/thermistor issue. Checked the optics and found them operating properly. Attempted to fill the ice maker mold and found the fill tube frozen, preventing water from reaching the ice maker. Lowered the freezer setting to -5°F to help improve temperatures and ice production. Returned and replaced the upper ice maker, fill tube, and ice room heater. Freezer temperature was approximately 9–10°F upon arrival. Ran test mode and verified the ice maker cycled and operated properly with no error codes present. Advised the customer to allow approximately 24 hours for ice production to begin and up to 72 hours for the ice bucket to fill.
