Whirlpool Washer - Noisy During Spin Cycle

Repair Summary

Checked washer for a loud noise during the spin cycle. Entered service mode and tested the components. During operation of the cam and actuator, the spin basket began to rev but did not transition properly into spin. Tipped the washer back and verified the cam and actuator are shifting correctly. Further inspection determined the gearcase is stripped internally and is not properly transferring into spin. The washer will require a complete tub/gearcase repair. Parts were initially identified for the repair; however, due to the extent of the repair, the warranty company will not proceed with repairs at this time. Customer was advised that the warranty company will contact them directly regarding further resolution. No repairs performed.
