Maytag - Broken Agitator Damaging Clothes

Repair Summary

Customer complaint was that the washer agitator was broken and causing damage to clothing. Inspected the agitator assembly and found that the lower plastic base was fractured, creating damaged edges that were catching and tearing clothing during the wash cycle. Determined that the agitator assembly required replacement to eliminate the damaged component and prevent further clothing damage.


Replaced the defective agitator assembly and performed the washer's calibration procedure following installation. Conducted operational testing to verify proper functionality of the wash system. Confirmed that the washer fills with water, agitates during the wash cycle, drains properly, and completes the spin cycle as designed. All tested functions passed, and the washer is operating normally at this time.
