Midea Fridge - Broken Ice Maker

Repair Summary

Checked refrigerator for customer complaint of a broken lower ice maker. Upon arrival, inspected the ice maker assembly and found it hanging out of its proper mounting position due to a broken retaining clip. Determined that the damaged mounting clip prevented the ice maker from being properly secured and that replacement of the ice maker assembly was necessary.


Removed the damaged ice maker and installed a new ice maker assembly, ensuring it was properly secured in its mounting position. Allowed the ice maker to initiate a harvest cycle and verified that the ice tray twisted properly and the assembly called for water as designed. Inspected the surrounding area and confirmed no water leaks were present. Advised the customer to allow approximately 24 hours for normal ice production to resume. No additional issues were identified, and the refrigerator checked normal upon completion of the repair.
