Repair Summary

Checked dishwasher for customer complaint of an LC error code and intermittent loss of electrical power. Upon arrival, attempted to connect to the dishwasher using Samsung HASS diagnostic software to perform a comprehensive system evaluation. During the diagnostic process, the dishwasher unexpectedly lost power, interrupting communication. Inspected the electronic control components and discovered evidence of pest infestation, including fecal contamination across the electronics. No live insects were observed during the inspection. Explained that pest waste can absorb moisture and become conductive, potentially causing electrical shorts, corrosion, and intermittent electronic control failures. Based on the condition of the electronics and reported symptoms, replacement of the affected electronic components would be necessary. Was subsequently able to access the dishwasher's manual diagnostic mode and complete a full diagnostic cycle from beginning to end without any error codes or visible water leaks.

To further investigate the reported LC error code, initiated a Quick Wash cycle and introduced a small amount of rinse aid solution to increase sudsing and help identify potential water leakage. Within several minutes, observed a significant amount of water escaping from the left side of the dishwasher door. Further inspection revealed substantial physical damage to the door frame, which appeared consistent with an external impact or an object potentially falling onto the door and bending the frame. The deformation created a visible gap along the door edge, allowing wash water to escape, travel down the side of the door, and accumulate on the floor. Documented the damaged door frame, water leakage, and electronic contamination with photographs and video. Contacted Samsung Technical Support and reviewed the findings for documentation. Due to the identified physical damage, Samsung determined that the necessary repairs were not eligible for warranty coverage and that warranty coverage was voided. Customer was informed of the findings, the cause of the water leakage, the condition of the electronics, and Samsung's warranty determination.
