Samsung Dryer - Overheating & Burning Odor
Model: DVE47CG3500VA3
Location: North Fort Myers, FL 33917
Repair Summary
Customer complaint was that the dryer was overheating and producing a burning odor during operation. Connected to the dryer using Samsung HASS diagnostic software and performed an initial system evaluation, which identified a stored DC error code. During the comprehensive HASS diagnostic evaluation, a D80 error code was also detected, indicating approximately 80% exhaust airflow restriction. Contacted Samsung Technical Support and initiated a Visual Support session to review the customer's concerns and diagnostic findings. Performed multiple diagnostic and operational tests with Technical Support, all of which passed without identifying an internal component failure.
Additionally, performed a CPS diagnostic test to further evaluate and confirm the findings related to the exhaust ventilation system. Based on the diagnostic results and consultation with Technical Support, determined that the customer has a restricted dryer exhaust vent contributing to the reported overheating concerns. Educated the customer on proper dryer maintenance and the importance of having the entire exhaust vent system professionally cleaned to restore adequate airflow and prevent overheating and potential fire hazards. Advised the customer to have the venting issue corrected before further dryer use. All performed component and operational tests passed, with the external exhaust ventilation restriction identified as the outstanding issue.
