Repair Summary

Customer reported that the refrigerator was not cooling properly. Performed a HASS diagnostic report and weak cooling test, with graphs showing abnormal temperature fluctuations in the freezer compartment. Upon inspection, discovered oil residue on the high-side refrigerant connections, indicating a potential refrigerant leak. Replaced both high-side couplers, filter drier, and service port. Pressurized the sealed system with 350 psi of nitrogen and bubble-tested all joints. No visible leaks were identified; however, the system experienced a pressure drop of 3.6 psi over 30 minutes. Ambient temperatures inside the freezer and fresh food compartments were in the 30s and 36°F, respectively, which may have influenced pressure readings. Repeated the pressure test and observed a similar pressure drop at a slightly slower rate.

Evacuated the sealed system to 600 microns and recharged it with refrigerant according to factory specifications. Restored power and verified that the compressor and all fans started properly, with cool air circulating throughout the compartments. Adjusted temperature settings accordingly and advised the customer to allow 12–24 hours for cooling temperatures to stabilize and normal ice production to resume. Unit was operating normally during the final operational check; however, the pressure loss observed during testing was not conclusively resolved.
