Repair Summary
Checked dryer for abnormal noises and extended drying times. Customer stated the dryer was also taking too long to dry clothes. Disassembled the unit and inspected the front bearing area; no foreign objects or obstructions were found. Replaced the rear drum bearings and reassembled the dryer. Performed a heat test and demonstrated to the customer that the dryer is reaching excessive temperatures and taking longer than normal to cool down, indicating restricted airflow through the home's vent system. Advised the customer that the vent system, particularly the section routed through the roof, needs to be professionally inspected and cleaned due to the potential fire hazard associated with restricted dryer ventilation. Unit checks normal aside from the suspected external vent restriction.
