Repair Summary

Checked dryer for not heating properly. Customer stated the dryer barely gets hot. Started the dryer on a Time Dry cycle and verified the drum was rotating and the interior was heating properly, indicating the heating element is functioning. Inspected the exterior vent, which is located directly on the opposite side of the wall, and found no airflow. Further inspection of the duct and lint filter found a large accumulation of lint completely restricting airflow. This restriction was causing the dryer to overheat, allowing the thermostat to cycle the heater off as a safety feature. Removed the front cover and thoroughly cleaned the lint from the blower wheel and housing assembly. Retested the dryer and verified strong airflow at the exterior vent and proper heat cycling, with the interior temperature reaching approximately 200°F. Educated the customer on proper use and maintenance, including keeping the lint filter and vent system clean. Unit checks normal at this time.
