HotPoint Washer - Leaking & Loud Noise During Spin
Model: HTW265ASW0WW
Location: LaBelle, FL 33935
Repair Summary
Checked washer for the customer’s complaint of water leaking and loud roaring noises during the spin cycle. Upon inspection, found the drain pump leaking, the transmission/gearcase bearing damaged, and oil leaking from underneath the transmission assembly. Based on these findings, determined that the washer requires a complete tub repair, including replacement of the transmission/gearcase assembly, drain pump, and main control board. Inspected the suspension rods, which had previously been replaced by another service company, and verified that they maintained proper tension and were functioning as intended. Suspension replacement is not necessary at this time.
Contacted the warranty company and provided a detailed report of the diagnostic findings, confirmed component failures, and required repairs. Explained that due to the extent of the mechanical damage, labor involved in completing a full tub repair, and number of components requiring replacement, the repair may not be economically feasible compared to replacement of the appliance. Provided the warranty company with the complete list of required parts for evaluation. The warranty company will review the estimated repair costs and determine whether to authorize the repairs or pursue an alternative resolution. The customer will be contacted directly by the warranty company regarding the next steps. Repairs remain pending warranty review and authorization.
