Repair Summary
Checked refrigerator for no ice production. Upon arrival, found no red light visible on the optic sensor. Checked voltage and verified approximately 115V at the sensor. Contacted Tech Support and was advised that this sensor does not display a red indicator light. Per Tech Support, checked voltage at the ice maker and found only approximately 85V. Tech Support recommended replacing the main control board. Returned and replaced the main control board. The ice maker completed a full cycle but did not call for water. Contacted Tech Support again to verify operation of the Gen 2 ice maker and found this unit falls under a service bulletin requiring replacement of both the ice maker and optic sensors because the Gen 1 and Gen 2 components do not communicate with each other. Replaced the ice maker and optic sensors. The ice maker immediately cycled and called for water properly with no leaks. Advised the customer to allow approximately 24 hours for normal ice production. Unit checks normal at this time.
