Repair Summary
Checked ice machine for not producing ice. Upon arrival, found the unit turned off. Turned the ice machine on and connected the water supply. Verified the reservoir filled properly with good water pressure. The circulation pump started and circulated water over the cold plate. Removed the drain cap and verified the unit drained properly. Refilled the reservoir and continued testing. Verified the compressor and fans started; however, after approximately five minutes, the cold plate showed no temperature change. Inspected the compressor area and found no visible oil residue. Found the condenser coil rusted, indicating possible previous water exposure and a potential pinhole refrigerant leak. A complete sealed-system diagnosis would require replacing the damaged condenser and pressure testing the system to determine whether additional leaks are present. Due to the extent and cost of the repair exceeding the value of the unit, recommended replacement.
