Repair Summary
Checked washer for particles being left on clothing. Customer stated she has used the Self Clean cycle in the past but has not run it recently. The home has a water softener, which can cause detergent and soap to lather more. Inspected the washer and found detergent residue buildup on the agitator. Explained that after years of use, additional buildup can accumulate between the inner and outer tubs and break loose onto clothing. Recommended running the Self Clean cycle several times to help remove and reduce the buildup. If the issue continues, the alternative would be replacing the tub assemblies, which would not be cost-effective.
