Model: MED7230HW3
Location: Cape Coral, FL 33909
Repair Summary
Checked dryer for a loud rumbling noise. The customer stated the noise was most noticeable when the dryer shut off and the drum came to a stop. Upon inspection, found the blower wheel stripped and separated from the motor shaft, causing it to wobble. Removed the damaged blower wheel, replaced the motor assembly and blower wheel, and verified proper operation. The customer also reported the dryer was no longer heating. Checked the heating system and found the high-limit thermostat on the heater housing open due to restricted airflow. Replaced the high-limit thermostat and tested the dryer, verifying proper drum rotation and normal heating operation. During testing, found poor airflow through the exhaust vent and advised the customer to have the dryer vent professionally cleaned before continued use to prevent the high-limit thermostat from failing again. Unit is operating properly at this time.
