Midea Fridge - Condensation & Ice Build Up

Repair Summary

Checked refrigerator for condensation and ice buildup in the fresh food section. Upon arrival, customer opened the doors to demonstrate the concern. When the doors were closed, found the French door assembly rubbing against the bottom liner, preventing the door from sealing properly and leaving an air gap that was allowing warm air to enter the fresh food compartment. Determined this was the cause of the condensation and ice buildup.


Installed a Teflon washer to raise the door and replaced the French door assembly. Verified the door now engages the strike properly, closes correctly, and seals with no visible gaps. Removed the accumulated ice and wiped away all condensation. Advised the customer to monitor the refrigerator for any recurrence. Unit checks normal at this time.
