Repair Summary

Checked dishwasher for customer complaint of the door dropping or falling open without proper resistance. Upon inspection, examined the door hinge and counterbalance spring mechanism and found that the door spring cable (rope) was worn and no longer providing proper tension to support the weight of the door. This condition prevents the door counterbalance system from operating correctly, allowing the door to drop unexpectedly when opened.


Determined that the worn door spring cable requires replacement to restore proper door tension and controlled opening and closing. Ordering a new door spring cable assembly to complete the repair. Dishwasher door operation will be tested following installation to verify proper counterbalance tension and secure operation.
