Repair Summary

Checked dishwasher for reduced cleaning performance. Upon arrival, found standing water in the bottom of the dishwasher with a strong stagnant odor. Canceled the cycle and verified the drain pump was operating and removing water properly. Inspected the drain hose routing and found it sloping downward from the garbage disposal toward the dishwasher, which could allow wastewater to backflow into the unit. Secured the drain hose in an elevated position to create a proper high loop and help prevent backflow.

Entered service mode and ran diagnostics, which displayed a 7C error code indicating a water distribution diverter motor fault. Further inspection found one of the spray arms detached from its mounting position. Reattached the spray arm and educated the customer on proper installation and possible causes of detachment. Reran diagnostics and verified the dishwasher completed testing successfully with no additional error codes. Placed a phone inside the dishwasher to document water circulation and verified strong water distribution through both the upper and lower spray arms. No leaks or abnormal operation were observed. Advised the customer to continue monitoring cleaning performance. Unit checks normal and is operating according to manufacturer specifications at this time.
