Repair Summary
Checked dryer for customer complaint of the unit running and subsequently displaying an HC error code, indicating an abnormal heating or overheating condition. Verified that the dryer was receiving the proper 240V electrical supply. Connected Samsung HASS diagnostic software and retrieved three stored error codes, including the HC fault. Disassembled the dryer and removed the drum to access and inspect the heating system components. Performed continuity testing on the heating element and associated thermal fuses. The heating element and remaining protective components tested within specifications; however, the thermal fuse located on the blower housing was found defective.
Replaced the defective thermal fuse and reassembled the dryer. Operated the unit to verify proper heating and overall functionality following the repair. All components tested operated normally, with no further issues detected during testing. Also performed a CPS dryer vent airflow test and advised the customer that the exhaust vent requires cleaning to maintain proper airflow and help prevent overheating and premature component failure. Educated the customer on the importance of having the dryer vent professionally cleaned at least once annually. Dryer checks normal at this time.
