Repair Summary
Checked refrigerator for the upper ice maker freezing over. Customer stated we previously serviced the refrigerator for the same issue before they were aware they had an extended warranty. Upon inspection, found the ice room frozen over, which is a known recurring issue with this model (see pictures). Thawed and cleared the ice room and replaced the ice maker and auger assembly. Also found the ice bin cracked and requiring replacement. Customer approved having the replacement ice bin ordered and shipped directly to their home. Cycled the new ice maker and verified proper operation. Advised the customer to allow approximately 24 hours for normal ice production. Explained that although the ice room was thawed and the affected components were replaced, the underlying ice room freezing condition is not permanently repairable and is expected to return.
