Repair Summary

Checked refrigerator for no cooling. Upon arrival, found the refrigerator powered off at the circuit breaker. Restored power and checked for stored error codes. Found error code 84C, indicating a compressor malfunction. Refrigerator was manufactured in 2021, so sealed system warranty coverage was initially uncertain. Inspected the copper refrigerant lines for signs of oil or refrigerant leakage and found no visible evidence. Contacted the customer and explained the diagnosis and necessary repairs. Prior to beginning any work, documented preexisting cosmetic damage to the front door and side of the refrigerator with photographs. Unplugged the refrigerator after completing the initial inspection.

Confirmed that the sealed system repair was covered under warranty; however, the main control board was not covered and would be the customer's responsibility. Quoted $475 for the main control board repair, less the $100 diagnostic fee, leaving a remaining balance of $375 plus applicable sales tax. Removed and replaced the defective compressor and main control boards. Pressurized the sealed system to 350 PSI with nitrogen and monitored pressure for 25 minutes, observing a 2 PSI drop, which was determined to be within acceptable limits during testing. No evidence of refrigerant leakage was identified. Evacuated the sealed system and recharged the refrigerator with 2.69 oz of refrigerant. Connected HASS diagnostic software and performed an overall system test, which passed without any issues. Verified proper fan operation and airflow throughout the refrigerator. Placed the removed components near the trash can and turned off the ice maker to prevent unnecessary operation while the customer was away and the refrigerator returned to normal operating temperatures. All checks good at this time.
