Samsung Fridge - No Cool
Model: RF32CG5D00SRAA
Location: Fort Myers, FL 33913
Repair Summary
Checked refrigerator for customer complaint of no cooling. Upon arrival, found the refrigerator operating excessively loud, with significant heat coming from the compressor compartment. Measured temperatures in both the freezer and fresh food compartments, which were in the 80s°F. Compressor temperature was over 190°F. Accessed the sealed refrigeration system and confirmed refrigerant was present, indicating the system was not completely depleted of refrigerant. Based on the inspection and operating conditions, determined that the compressor was defective and required replacement. Ordered a new compressor and turned the refrigerator off before leaving, as the home was unoccupied.
Upon returning for the compressor replacement, discovered that the silicone plug inside the compressor service port was damaged while preparing the connection for the refrigeration gauges. Attempted to retrieve the damaged plug using a small screwdriver without success. Cut into the service tubing to gain access; however, the rubber plug continued breaking apart and moving farther into the tubing. The remaining tubing length was insufficient to establish a proper connection, and an additional connection attempt resulted in further damage. Determined that another replacement compressor was necessary to complete the repair correctly.
Returned and successfully installed the new compressor. Pressurized the sealed refrigeration system with 353 PSI of nitrogen and monitored the pressure for 25 minutes. No pressure loss was observed throughout the test, indicating no detectable leaks at the tested connections. Evacuated the refrigeration system using a vacuum pump and charged the unit with 3.3 oz of refrigerant. Connected Samsung HASS diagnostic software and performed the Weak Cooling Test and Overall Diagnostic Test, with all tests passing successfully. Verified proper operation following the repair. Advised that the refrigerator will require approximately 34 hours to return to normal operating temperatures. Unit checks normal at this time.
