Repair Summary

Checked refrigerator for the customer’s complaint of no ice production. Customer reported previously experiencing minor cooling issues but stated that cooling appeared to have improved. Connected to the refrigerator using Samsung HASS and performed a service diagnostic report, which revealed no active error codes. Ran a weak cooling test and found the freezer temperature hovering around 20°F, which is insufficient for proper ice maker operation. Explained to the customer that the freezer temperature must drop below 10°F for the ice maker to initiate normal cycling. Verified that the compressor and cooling fans were operating, with no other component failures identified during the initial inspection. Based on the elevated freezer temperature and diagnostic findings, suspected a sealed system issue affecting cooling performance. The refrigerator was installed inside an RV with limited clearance, preventing access to the rear sealed system components. Customer agreed to move the refrigerator into an accessible area to allow further inspection and repair.

Returned and inspected the rear sealed system components. Immediately identified refrigerant oil residue at the condenser connections, indicating a refrigerant leak in that area. Removed the leaking section and installed a new filter drier. Pressurized the sealed system with 353 PSI of nitrogen and inspected all repaired connections for leaks. Maintained the pressure test for 25 minutes with no leaks detected. Following successful pressure testing, evacuated the sealed system using a vacuum pump and recharged the refrigerator with 2.75 oz of refrigerant. Performed a complete Samsung HASS overall diagnostic test after the repair to verify system operation, with no additional operational issues identified. Advised the customer to allow up to 24 hours for the refrigerator and freezer compartments to reach their proper operating temperatures and for ice production to resume once the freezer reaches the required temperature. Unit checks normal at this time, pending full temperature stabilization.
