Location: North Fort Myers, FL 33917

Repair Summary

Checked refrigerator for an intermittent ice maker noise. Customer stated the ice maker would randomly produce ice, but after a period of time it would cycle repeatedly and make a loud noise. Ran HASS diagnostics and found a C26 ice maker error. Initially forced the newer ice maker to cycle and it operated normally; however, after several cycles, the ice maker became stuck during the harvest cycle and produced a loud hammering noise (see video). When this occurred, the ice maker would not call for water. After three additional cycles, it completed the harvest and filled properly. Contacted Samsung and completed Visual Support. The failure was successfully reproduced during the call so Samsung could observe the ice maker malfunctioning. Samsung recommended replacing the refrigerator door along with the ice maker. Also had a main control board available as a precaution due to a previous HASS Overall Check causing the refrigerator to stop operating. Replaced the door and ice maker and tested operation. Verified the ice maker cycled and filled properly with no abnormal noise (see video). Ran the HASS Overall Check and submitted a passing report to Samsung. Advised the customer to allow approximately 24 hours for normal ice production.
