Repair Summary

Checked refrigerator for slow ice production. Reviewed with the customer factors that can affect ice production, including door openings and elevated freezer temperatures. Connected HASS and ran a Weak Cooling Test, which confirmed the average temperatures were within acceptable range. No active error codes were found. Ran the HASS OQC test, which also passed. Inspected the freezer and found frost throughout the compartment. Customer stated the freezer door had previously been left slightly open, after which the frost buildup occurred, and also reported seeing a sensor error code. Removed the ice maker and cleared the frost buildup. Found a large sheet of ice at the bottom of the freezer, indicating water had been leaking and freezing in the area. Replaced both ice makers and fill tubes. Cycled both ice makers and verified they completed their cycles and called for water properly with no leaks. Adjusted the freezer temperature to improve ice production. Customer's average freezer temperature was approximately 8°F, which is too close to the upper temperature range where the ice makers may not cycle properly. Set the freezer temperature to -4°F and advised the customer to monitor ice production over the next 24 hours. Inspected the compressor compartment for traces of oil or refrigerant leakage and found none. Unit checks normal at this time.
