Samsung Fridge - Weak Cooling
Model: RS27T5200SR/AA
Location: Lehigh Acres, FL 33974
Repair Summary
Checked refrigerator for weak cooling. Upon arrival, found average temperatures around 40°F. Verified the compressor and all fans were operating. Connected HASS and ran a service diagnostic report with no stored error codes. Inspected the freezer evaporator fan and found airflow was weak during the high-speed stage. Replaced the freezer evaporator cover assembly and, after restoring power, observed a significant improvement in airflow, approximately 2–3 times stronger than before. Upon removing the original evaporator cover, found the upper portion of the evaporator coil frozen solid. This condition can be caused by a defrost issue, restricted airflow, or a sealed-system restriction/leak. Due to the noticeable improvement in airflow with the new evaporator cover, an airflow issue was initially suspected. Allowed the unit to operate for approximately 20 minutes and found the frost pattern was still limited to only the first two coils, indicating a possible sealed-system restriction or refrigerant leak. Ordered the necessary sealed-system parts.
Returned and replaced the filter drier and installed a new Lokring connection on the condenser side. Pressurized the sealed system and completed a pressure test, which passed with no leaks detected. Evacuated and recharged the system according to factory specifications. Restored power and verified the refrigerator was operating properly. Advised the customer to monitor the refrigerator for approximately 24 hours while temperatures stabilize. Unit checks normal at this time.
