Repair Summary

Checked microwave for a reported no-heat condition. Upon inspection, verified that the microwave powered on, the countdown timer operated, and the ventilation fan was functioning; however, the unit failed to heat during a water-heating test. Performed electrical diagnostics and determined that the high-voltage transformer was not receiving the required input voltage. Inspected and tested the applicable fuses, thermal thermostats, door interlock switches, and noise filter board, all of which checked normal. Based on these findings, determined that the main control board/relay circuit was defective and not supplying power to the high-voltage transformer. Recommended replacement of the main control board. Since the high-voltage circuit could not be fully evaluated without the required voltage supply, also recommended ordering the high-voltage transformer and magnetron as precautionary components to address any additional failures identified after restoring power.

Replaced the main control board and performed an operational test using water. The microwave successfully heated the water, confirming that power had been restored to the high-voltage circuit. However, during operation, an abnormally loud noise was observed from the high-voltage transformer and magnetron area. Replaced the high-voltage transformer and magnetron to address the abnormal operating noise. Following installation, performed another water-heating test and verified that the microwave heated properly without any abnormal noises. Confirmed normal operation following the completed repairs. Unit checks normal at this time.
