Samsung Range - Burner Continuously Heating
Model: NE63A6511SS/AA
Location: Cape Coral, FL 33914
Repair Summary
Checked range for the customer’s complaint of the center cooktop burner heating continuously and failing to shut off. Customer reported having to turn off the circuit breaker to stop the burner from heating. Performed diagnostic inspection and determined that a relay on the electronic control board was stuck in the closed position, continuously supplying power to the center heating element. Confirmed that the control board requires replacement to properly correct the malfunction. No additional operational issues were identified during the inspection.
Customer stated that the center burner is rarely used and requested that the technician disconnect the affected component rather than replace the control board. Explained that, due to electrical safety concerns and liability, we could not perform or authorize a modification that bypasses or disables the factory-designed heating circuit. The customer subsequently attempted the disconnection himself, after which the center burner was no longer energizing. This modification was performed by the customer and was not completed or verified as a safe repair by our technician. Advised that the defective control board remains unresolved and requires replacement. The range should not be considered fully repaired or safe for continued operation until the defective control board is replaced and proper operation is verified. No other malfunctions were identified during the initial inspection.
