Samsung Range - Inaccurate Heating & Inconsistent Cooking Temps
Model: NSI6DG9100SRAA
Location: Fort Myers, FL 33919
Repair Summary
Checked oven for customer complaint of inaccurate heating and inconsistent cooking temperatures. Upon arrival, initiated an oven heating cycle and inspected the electrical components at the rear of the appliance. Tested both the bake and broil heating elements and confirmed that they were functioning properly. Performed voltage checks across the applicable oven components and verified proper electrical supply. Allowed the oven to operate through a 25-minute preheat and temperature-monitoring period to evaluate heating performance and temperature regulation. During testing, observed the oven temperature reach 375°F, decrease to 334°F, and subsequently rise past 465°F while continuing to heat. These readings confirmed that the oven was producing heat and cycling through temperature changes during operation. No electrical faults or heating element failures were identified during testing.
Explained to the customer that electric ovens require sufficient preheat time to allow the oven cavity, racks, and surrounding components to stabilize, with many models requiring approximately 30 minutes for more consistent cooking temperatures. Also explained that temperature fluctuations occur as the electronic control cycles the heating elements to maintain the selected temperature. Although the heating elements and voltage supply tested correctly, the observed temperature range should be evaluated against the selected setpoint and manufacturer's specifications to determine whether temperature regulation is within acceptable limits. No component failure was confirmed during this visit, and the customer was advised of the testing results and proper preheating recommendations.
