Whirlpool Dishwasher - Dishes Not Drying Properly
Model: WDT710PAHZ1
Location: Punta Gorda, FL 33982
Repair Summary
Checked dishwasher for dishes not drying properly. Customer stated all other functions are operating normally. Upon arrival, placed the dishwasher into service mode and found no error codes. Ran a complete diagnostic test that checked all major components, including activation of the heating element at the end of the test cycle. Verified the heating element reached approximately 180°F and was able to melt an ice cube placed directly on the element, confirming proper heater operation. No component failure could be identified. Explained to the customer that this dishwasher has a plastic tub, and plastic items generally do not dry as effectively as dishes in a dishwasher with a stainless-steel tub. Also explained that water droplets can collect on the ceiling of the dishwasher and drip onto dishes when the door is opened or the racks are moved. Recorded a video documenting the heating operation. Advised the customer that replacing components would not be expected to improve the drying performance because no component defect was found. Recommended using Finish or Cascade detergent/rinse-aid products, as these are products commonly tested and recommended by manufacturers. Customer understood. Unit checks normal at this time.
