Repair Summary
Checked refrigerator for the ice maker leaking water and ice buildup around the evaporator fan, causing a loud noise. Upon arrival, no abnormal noise was present. Forced the ice maker to cycle and waited for the water fill. During the fill cycle, verified water leaking from the rear cabinet area. A previous repair had already been attempted several months ago, during which the fill tube was sealed and extended with a plastic tube. Water is now leaking at the transition point where the fill tube passes from the exterior cabinet into the freezer section (see video). Contacted Whirlpool Tech Support and provided visual documentation of the leak. Whirlpool determined the refrigerator is unrepairable because the available repair had already been attempted and failed. Provided the customer with the reference number. The third-party warranty company will be contacted for an alternate resolution.
