Whirlpool Fridge - No Ice

Repair Summary

Checked refrigerator for no ice production. Upon arrival, measured the internal freezer temperature between the middle drawers and found it to be approximately 10°F. Used an infrared thermometer to check the surface temperature in the ice maker area and recorded -4°F, indicating sufficiently cold conditions for ice production. Inspected the ice maker and found ice present in the mold; however, the ice maker was not cycling or completing the harvest process. Determined that the ice maker was defective and required replacement.


Removed and replaced the defective ice maker. Manually cycled the new ice maker and verified that it completed the harvest cycle and filled with water properly. Confirmed proper operation following the repair. Advised the customer that the refrigerator may require up to 72 hours of normal operation to completely fill the ice storage bucket. Unit checks normal at this time.
