Whirlpool Fridge - No Ice
Model: WRF767SDHZ00
Location: North Fort Myers, FL 33917
Repair Summary
Checked refrigerator for the customer’s complaint of no ice production from either the upper or lower ice maker. Upon arrival, placed the refrigerator into service diagnostic mode and verified that no active error codes were present. Attempted to initiate a harvest cycle on both ice makers and found that one ice maker was frozen in place, preventing it from completing a full harvest cycle. Removed the affected ice maker and thawed the accumulated ice from the mold. Determined that the ice maker required replacement. Also tested the second ice maker and verified that it successfully cycled and called for water without any issues. During the inspection, found that the average freezer temperature was approximately 11°F, which is above the recommended operating temperature for reliable ice maker cycling. Explained to the customer that the freezer temperature must remain below 10°F for proper ice maker operation and consistent ice production.
Replaced the defective ice maker assembly and initiated a test cycle. Verified that the replacement ice maker completed its cycle and properly called for water. Adjusted the freezer temperature setting from 0°F to -5°F to help maintain temperatures below the 10°F threshold and improve ice production. Customer also reported that the ice storage bin was damaged, allowing ice to fall through and become jammed. Inspected the ice bin and confirmed a hole in the bucket. Replaced the damaged ice storage bin with a new assembly to prevent ice from escaping and causing additional dispensing issues. Verified that both ice makers responded properly during testing and successfully called for water. Advised the customer to monitor freezer temperatures and ice production over the next 24 hours and contact us if either ice maker continues to experience issues. No additional component failures were identified during testing. Unit checks normal at this time, pending continued temperature stabilization and ice production.
