Whirlpool Washer - Abnormal Noise / Leak
Model: WTW4855HW1
Location: Lehigh Acres, FL 33972
Repair Summary
Checked washer for abnormal noises and a reported water leak during the Bulky cycle. Disassembled and inspected the washer and found evidence of leakage from the transmission/gearcase assembly, confirming the need for a complete tub repair. Determined that replacement of the suspension rods, wash plate, gearcase, filter, cam, actuator, drive belt, mounting screws, agitator, stainless steel basket, and outer tub was necessary. Advised the customer that the dryer must be removed from the room and the work area made accessible prior to the return visit to provide adequate space for the repair. Customer acknowledged these requirements. The stainless steel basket was not in stock, and the warranty company advised that locating the part could take up to 5 business days.
Returned and completed the tub repair, replacing the necessary components and reassembling the washer. Verified that all components and hoses were properly positioned and secured during reassembly. The customer had purchased a replacement washer and relocated the original unit to the garage. As a result, the repaired washer was not connected to a water supply, and a complete operational test, including fill, wash, drain, spin, and leak verification, could not be performed. Repair and reassembly were completed; however, proper operation and leak-free performance could not be confirmed due to the unit being disconnected from the water supply.
