Whirlpool Washer - Incomplete Cycle
Model: WTW4900BW1
Location: Cape Coral, FL 33914
Repair Summary
Customer reported that the washer would not initiate or complete a cycle and was only producing a humming noise without performing any functions. Entered the washer into diagnostic mode and retrieved a stored long-drain error code, indicating that the unit was experiencing difficulty evacuating water. During testing, confirmed that the drain pump was receiving 120 VAC but was only humming without properly operating. Removed and inspected the drain pump assembly for foreign objects, debris, or obstructions that could prevent the impeller from rotating. No blockages or foreign materials were found. Based on the verified voltage supply, abnormal pump operation, and absence of obstructions, determined that the drain pump had failed internally and required replacement.
Installed a new drain pump assembly and performed an automatic diagnostic test cycle to verify proper operation of the washer. Confirmed that the unit filled with water, agitated, drained, and entered the spin cycle as designed. Verified that the replacement drain pump was operating correctly and successfully evacuating water from the tub. Inspected the pump connections and surrounding components for water leakage during and after testing, with no leaks detected. All tested functions passed, and the washer is operating normally at this time.
