Whirlpool Washer - Not Starting / Completing Cycle
Model: WTW4816FW2
Location: Fort Myers Beach, FL 33931
Repair Summary
Checked washer for not starting/completing a cycle properly. Upon arrival, ran diagnostics and found the washer was not filling with water quickly enough due to very low incoming water flow. Inspected the household water shut-off valves behind the washer and found them in poor condition and difficult to operate. Determined the washer water inlet valve was clogged and ordered a replacement valve. Advised that if the household shut-offs need to be serviced, the home's main water supply may need to be turned off.
Returned and replaced the washer water inlet valve. Tested the washer and found the water flow did not improve. Further inspection confirmed the household water shut-off valve is not opening fully and is restricting water flow to the washer. Customer/tenant stated they had attempted to operate the shut-off valve but it was difficult to turn. Advised that a plumber will be needed to replace or repair the household shut-off valve. The washer now has a clean, properly functioning inlet valve, and all other washer functions are operating properly. Unit checks normal aside from the restricted household water supply.
