Whirlpool Washer - Not Starting A Cycle
Model: WTW4816FW3
Location: Fort Myers, FL 33907
Repair Summary
Checked washer for not starting a cycle. Upon arrival, attempted to start a Quick Wash cycle, but the unit remained idle and the lid lock did not attempt to engage. Replaced the main control board, after which the lid lock began clicking but would not fully lock. Replaced the lid lock/latch assembly and restored proper communication between the lid lock and main control. Verified the lid now locks properly and the washer advances through the cycle. Tested the washer and verified proper cold and hot water fill, agitation, draining, and spinning. No leaks or error codes were found. During testing, found excessive shaking with the spin basket leaning significantly to the left. Replaced the suspension components, properly leveled the washer, and centered the basket. Retested the unit and verified the basket now spins properly with no abnormal movement. Unit checks normal at this time.
Advised the customer that the property owner has restricted the washer to Quick Wash only. Explained that Quick Wash is intended for very small, lightly soiled loads and is not designed for regular or larger loads. Recommended using the appropriate wash cycles and load sizes to prevent improper operation and unnecessary long-term wear on the washer.
